Dr. Robert Crocker, Founding Medical Director and former Director of Strategic Clinical Planning and Implementation at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, is a published thought leader in the healthcare industry and field of integrative medicine. In addition to experience as faculty at the Andrew Weil Center, he brings 35+ years of executive level healthcare expertise to guide evidence-based care plan creation and network development.
He has also served as National Medical Director at Wellpoint (acquired by Anthem), Chief Medical Officer for American Specialty Health, Inc. and previously led the development of a new model of integrative primary care that demonstrated patient satisfaction levels of greater than 90% and statistically significant improvements in patient self-reported outcomes for anxiety, depression and sense of wellbeing, among others.
His work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Good Morning America, and various academic publications.

The cost to open your practice depends on your model and how you want to practice – a telehealth-first micropractice carries very little overhead, while an in-person clinic accepting insurance looks different. The primary cost drivers are typically your EHR, physical space (if applicable), team and staff, malpractice insurance, website and brand, and marketing.
The more useful answer is that you won't be guessing. Together, we build a real financial model around your practice, so you walk in knowing your actual startup costs, your runway, and what your first months look like on paper before you commit a dollar to them.
Not necessarily. Many of the practitioners we work with launch leaner than they expected — especially lean and telehealth-forward models — and never take on significant debt. Others choose to finance their startup costs, and that can be a sound decision too. We'll model both paths with you so the choice feels clear instead of daunting.
Yes — and helping you make it work is one of the things we do best. There's a common belief that integrative and functional medicine has to be cash-only. It doesn't. We handle the credentialing and payer contracting so you can accept insurance if that's right for your patients and your practice. Many of the practitioners we support run a hybrid model — in-network for what's covered, cash-pay for the deeper, time-intensive care insurance won't reimburse. Whichever path fits your vision, we build the infrastructure to support it.
We work with both — from fully virtual micropractices to brick-and-mortar clinics, and everything in between. Whether you're fully virtual, fully in-person, or planning a hybrid model, we'll help you design the right structure for your goals.
We currently work with practitioners across the US, with deep expertise in specific state payer markets. Because credentialing, contracting, and billing are specific to each state and payer, the most accurate answer is one we'll give you directly once we know where you practice — we'll confirm exactly what's possible in your state on your first call.
Your launch timeline will depend on your practice model as well as your personal timeline and goals. We’ve had practices come to us ready to launch within 2-3 months, and others on a 6-12+ month timeline.
During BootCamp, we work together to get your business foundation, plan, and financial model in place. From there, the launch work — credentialing, payer contracting, EHR, and legal setup — moves alongside you. A cash-pay practice can open relatively quickly; if you're going in-network, payer timelines are the longest variable and that part takes longer, and can sometimes take 2-4 months. We'll give you a realistic timeline for your path early, so there are no surprises.
Success, to us, is you practicing medicine the way you trained to — in a practice that's truly yours, financially thriving, and built to last.
